Every receipt of initial hand is an important aspect that determines the move of a player. And, for that, the player needs to pass on an appropriate signal to the dealer. There are in general, four standard moves which are followed by hand signals on the blackjack table. Hit, Stand, Double Down, and Split a pair are the most important to be familiar with, if not all.
Hit
Tell the dealer you want to hit by simply pointing towards your cards in a face up game, while in a face down game, one can simply scrape the table with your hands. This will pass on an appropriate message to the dealer regarding your move. When a player goes for ‘hit’ option, the dealer lends another card to him.
Stand
Also referred to as ‘stick’ or ‘stay’, Stand is a gap when the player denies taking more cards. The hand signal for stand is quite simple. One basically waves the hand parallel to the table, in a horizontal direction. This is follows in face up blackjack game; while playing face down, the player simply puts the cards underneath the bet. This will signal the dealer that the player does not want to draw more cards.
Double Down
Doubling down is swapping a card with a card from the dealer, but this doubles the hand with the player. In this case, the player places another bet, next to the game in succession. To signal for doubling down, the player stacks another pile of chips next to the initial pile.
Split a pair
When a player has got a perfect pair, he can place another bet outside the betting box. The player can play two different hands in that case when the dealer separates the bet; or rather split sit to two. The player gives a hand signal by placing extra chips outside of the betting box.
